I don't know what dining out is and I've never had the joy/pleasure/freakout of going to anything formal or fancy or whatever for the AF. Upside, you'll match him. Are you comfortable in it or self conscious? And have you tried dress barn? I don't know what you spent but I know that dress barn has dresses and they're not too pricey and they usually have a sale.
ReplyDeleteIts basically military ball. They have a guest speaker, the whole chain of command for the detachment, and then all the cadets. There's a grog bowl, etc.

Oh and I spent about $17 on the dress AND the high heels. I'm as thrifty as they come!
Dont Shoot Me! BUT I believe the attire for such events is black tie ie mess dress, yes? Therefore in my, pretty much means nothing, opinion that is not the right thing. The AF Ball is like Prom in the AF, the dining out is ranked right there as well. Most spouses are encouraged to do the equivalent. "Appropriate attire for the ladies would be long or short evening dress."
