Yearbook!

Do you remember your favorite yearbook? I do, but mostly because I helped design it. I commissioned my brother to draw the cover of my junior high yearbook and it was chosen over dozens of designs! Protection.

Lieutenant and I were very adamant about getting some type of protection after the car was stolen. We have been saving up and were finally able to purchase a gun. Lieutenant took me out to the shooting range to teach me how to shoot and also safety procedures since I was pretty much gun illiterate.


It isnt a photo op without us being goofballs!

I'm up! Lieutenant didn't teach me how to aim so my entire first magazine missed the target.

But as you can see, while nowhere near good accuracy, I still made some of my second magazine on the target.

Even after being out of practice for years, he's still shooting at the expert level.

Verdict? While I will not survive the zombie apocalypse, I am pretty confident that I can hold my own in the event that someone breaks into the apartment! We also completed #79 on my Life List!

Photo bloggin'

I feel like I have severely neglected this blog. Well lets be honest, I have. Lieutenant and I have been so busy lately. We've begun the decorating process of our apartment now that we have furniture! We both insisted that we needed separate bookshelves and corners of the living room.

Here is my corner, messy with books I love and have yet to love. I still need to put up another frame:

Yeah...I know his looks better but mine has BOOKS. Either way, YAY for decorating. He got the helmet as a gift from our adoptive squadron. We also got some neat stuff for the kitchen. The first thing I want to show you is what I ordered from The Crafty Military Wife.

Oh my gosh, isn't it adorable? I love it and Lieutenant advised me to order another 10-12 blank duty station boards and find out what font she used just in case she decides to stop making them later. My dad would say this is thinking "3 moves ahead."

We also had to say goodbye to our adoptive squadron parents who have moved on to their last duty station before retirement. We are blessed to have known them and to have been a part of the squadron family. Here is a picture of all of the guys wearing a mask of his face!

 And finally, I just wanted to announce that I've lost 20 pounds! It was a HUGE goal for me to lose 20 and while I have a long ways to go, I'm extremely proud of myself! I wrote up a blog on MyFitnessPal and it received so much wonderful feedback...people said I was inspiring! Lil ol' me? Inspiring? I feel like we inspire each other. The more I lose, the more I want to help others lose. I cant wait to see what the rest of this year will bring! Here is a before and after picture of the 20 pounds:
