A turn around.

First off I wanted to let my readers know - I AM reading your blogs! I read them from my phone before I go to sleep but I'm hardly ever on the actual Blogger site..sorry. But I love your pictures and stories!

Second, I went to donate blood today to the Lackland Blood Donor Center. All the blood they get goes to service members in need and my blood type is one that they desperately need. So I went in, took the "entrance test" and got my levels checked. They said I had amazing iron levels and perfect blood pressure. I took my seat and felt fine as they took a little over a pint of my blood. The bag was full and fat, I was proud to give it up to someone who needed it. However when he took the needle out of my arm I instantly felt dizzy. My entire body went numb and I went deaf. No joke - I went deaf for 3 minutes and everything in my sight was blurry. The last thing I heard was "she's out." I woke up to ice packs being put on me and my hearing came back but it was cloudy. The nurse handed me a Coca Cola classic. I asked her for water but she said I had to get my sugar level up. I didn't want to feel paralyzed anymore so I took the coke and drank it. I felt better and was able to speak and laugh at the fact that I had passed out for the first time giving blood. And then it hit me. I started sweating, I turned yellow and I knew that the coke put me over the edge. The nurse yelled for a biohazard bag but it was too late. I threw up all over my jeans, my feet, the chair, the floor. When they got the biohazard bag to me I threw up some more. The coke had way too much sugar in it and after going so long with only eating sugars found in fruits, my body rejected it. I felt terrible...I even asked them if they would let me clean it up but they were nice and assured me that it happens all the time. The nurse told me that I didn't have to do anything because giving my blood was enough. They gave me a tshirt and helped me clean myself up and then I went home to change so I could have lunch with Lieutenant. Yeah, that really happened...I've donated blood many times and I have never experienced that. However, I will gladly donate again the next time they come around. One bad experience can't scare me, especially if my blood is needed and can save a life.

Next bit of news, to date I have lost 17 pounds through diet and exercise. I have dropped a pant size and have a lot of energy. I still don't, and probably will never like running but I have found true love in the elliptical. My butt looks good! With that news comes the best news of all - I was cleared for having PCOS!!! The doctors think that the birth control I was on began the onset of weight gain that, due to my bad habits, continued. But as I started exercising, I got my period again and began ovulating again. Basically all I have to do is keep exercising and eating healthy and I will be fine. As for children, I will be discussing a long term birth control with my gynecologist, 3-5 years of it. Knowing that I do not have PCOS only reaffirms that we need to wait to have kids. We want kids and we love them but we need to be selfish right now. We are only young once!

So that is my news - is anyone still reading this? Leave a comment! I will try to get on here and comment on the blogs I always read. <3
